heh...

You are definitely the lucky one. I guess you'll have to see next year then. Beginning line is Illinois by 17.

Haven't been as hyped up for a game as I am for this coming one. You'll feel it.

WOW, had a very tough time with Baylor!!!! Ended up kicking a 30 yard field goal as time expired. My defense played like shit, and I had 2 costly fumbles and a pick where the DB just jumped out of his shoes. Hopefully it was just because it was a rivalry game. Just happy to escape with the win for now. My two freshman backs combined for 206 yards, but 2 fumbles deep in my territory killed scoring drives.

Week 1 Empty Maryland stomps Navy

Post  RapidToxin Sat Aug 29, 2009 11:27 am

Week 1 991A0001_1_JPEG_SCREENSHOT_LZz
Tight End L. Watson catching one of his two touchdowns.

Navy @ #5 Maryland
Final Score | 3 - 70 Maryland

Maryland showed no mercy to Navy in the first week racking up 546 yards of total offense and 70 points. It all started by a strong first drive where Scott and Megget charged the Terrapin offense downfield without throwing the ball a single time and from there it was all down hill with the defense having one pick six and a nasty 95 yard kick return. Scott punished the defense running for 244 yards and three touchdowns on 38 carries, in total he had 347 all purpose yards.

The team in total ran the ball 57 plays out of 70 with Sophomore quarterback Jamarr Robinson going 9 for 13, 210 passing yards, three touchdowns and another two touchdowns on the ground with ten carries for 48 yards. In total Maryland had 736 total yards and 21 minutes of possession. On the defensive side of the ball Alex Wujciak lead the defense with 11 tackles and six of them being for negative yards, in total the navy offense only racked up 124 yards and if it weren't for a two or three big plays they likely would have been held to less.

Post  dell8242 Sat Aug 29, 2009 1:31 pm

Started out strong, then the second half my offense just went in the crapper. I only threw the ball 18 times and my receivers dropped 6 balls. My defense gave up a couple 3rd and long situations, it was just a mess. I also somehow got a passing interference call on a HB screen. I blitzed, my whole def. line was in the backfield, hit the QB and I get a penalty. Hopefully I got my crap game like I had against La-Lafeyette last season out early.

Let's shoot for tonight then. I'll keep my aim signed in if you want to hit me on that since I forget to check the forum sometimes. itmannwvuit is my aim name.

I'm thinking closer to 5, but we can probably start any time up until 7 or 8 and I would be good.

Week 1 Empty First win of the season

Post  DMT1809 Sat Aug 29, 2009 8:16 pm

Game Stats:

AF Wash
Score 7 33
FD 10 18
Off yds 135 367
Run 25-30-0TD 42-184-3TD
Pass 9-19-0TD 12-16-0TD
Yds 105 183
3rd dwn 4-10 2-9
Rd Zne 0-1 5-6
Turn 6 0
Fumb 3 0
Int 3 0

The score could have been a shut out but he got a kick return for a TD...need to work on that lol...the offense was consrvative in the second half I didn't want to attempt a lot of passes and run the score up so I settled for field goals in some situations. Pierre Smith was crisp and accurate which was good...his arm stength helps a lot. The DL played an excellent game he tried scramling a lot but didn't do much damage. The 4-2-5 looks good on us but I'll be able to judge better when we go against K-State in two weeks Surprised . OL played real good and the running game was solid because of it. Recievers had some clutch catches and the LB's played the option real good. Overall grade a B+ need to work on defending scrambling QB's better. As for the season I predict us to 10-2 or 9-3...I checked the rosters...K-State is athleticly better and Illinois and USC...omg I think I just threw up in my mouth...a blur of 95's and better affraid

Just lettin ya know that I work midnights, so I'm usually free aroun 5pm est, till about 8. I am free all day Tuesday and Wednesday.

Guys think about playing some things on conservative as opposed to aggressive... if Im dropping balls I put WR on conservative to give them a bonus to catching and holding to ball as opposed to breaking tackles

same with penalties, etc.

It works

now way you guys can play early Monday, before you both go to work?

Ill stretch the 24-36 hr rule for user games, but even then they should barely be around 36 hours as it is.

Two major things killed me in this game:

1) Both of my lines got owned. As we all know, AF's offense is option heavy. Hard to run an option when as soon you snap the ball there's a DE in your face. A lot of the scrambling mentioned wasn't exactly by design. I was running for my life as soon as the ball was snapped.

2) Turnovers. Particularly fumbles. I know I fumble a lot because I fight tackles and sometimes run aggressive, but even when I turn down the settings I still seem to drop the ball. I have this problem in another dynasty that I play as well. It's obviously something that I'm doing and not the players, but I can't figure it out.

Because of the D-line pressure, Washington was able to keep 7 or 8 in the box even when the score was out of hand and it was obvious that I had to pass. I couldn't take advantage of 1-on-1s because my QB was either on his back 2 seconds after the snap or running around trying to evade the rush.

Defensively, Washinton took chunks of yards by picking whichever hole was available. Either my DTs were getting pushed 3 yards off the ball or my DEs were locked up and allowed bit outside runs. My LBs were rarely quick enough to get outside to help cover the DE that was swallowed up at the line.

I think this game just exhibited the difference between playing a below average CPU controlled team (which is most of the Mountain West Conference) and a highly ranked human controlled team. Last year, my offense line had to lead the country in pancake blocks. I'd be surprised if I got even one in this game.

Clark gets the benefit of an easy win next week.

BTW, it was readily apparent that DMT was taking it easy on me late. I appreciate it. You could have beaten me 60-something to zero quite easily with the way this game went.
