Week 7 Empty Re: Week 7

I started to play earlier this morning and I didn't realize I had obligations to pick my dad up at lunch to get some errands done for him. When I came back home my game-screen was long-gone and I had been signed out of PSN. Sorry about the restart.

------

#4 TAMU - 23 @ #16 Oklahoma State - 33

The Cowboys got revenge on last years shalacking and did it in a chess-match battle that went deep into the fourth quarter. Without the help of Coach Strouse for undetermined matters and issues one of the Big 10s best rivalries of recent memory inevitably continued on and from the get-go it appeared as if Coach Strouse's absence was greatly felt all around the field.

Boone Pickens Stadium was bumpin' the entire afternoon and recorded the biggest crowd attendance of all time with 65,000 fans in attendance many of which occupying the parking lot with tailgating festivites. The traditional "Walk" by coaches and players two hours before game-time was insane and Coach Macc admits his guys must've feasted off the energy in the place.

Traevon Pierce led his troops down the field the first time the offence touched the ball after forcing the Aggies to a three and out. A beautiful drive executed with all different kinds of passes, runs and sweeps capped off with a two-yard Kyle Staley touchdown put the Cowboys on top and had Boone Pickens louder than any players could have remembered.

"It was so loud, I couldn't barely think or anything. I went to kick the extra point and it was a bad hold next thing you know we turned 7 points into 6" Kicker Quinten Sharpe said.

If that's not bad enough - Sharpe missed the SECOND extra point attempt of the game giving the Cowboys only a 12-7 lead despite having scored twice in the first quarter. Coach Macc sat with his special teams players and had a serious talk with them going into the second quarter after a kick-return was the Aggies first quarter score. If you remember, last year the Cowboys were plauged with turnovers and nearly lost the game putting up less points than the Aggies did simply on returns.

The special teams settled down and the game was neck and neck throughout the second quarter, Oklahoma State going into the half with a 19-17 point lead. A fired up crowd in Stillwater introduced the Cowboys and everybody was all fired up once again this time with them receiving the ball to start.

Unfortunately, the offence was shutdown the entire third quarter much do in large part to a Trae Pierce interception off a horrible tipped ball that should've been caught by playmaking receiver Isiah Anderson. Trae shook his head as he got off the field but was reminded by the coaching staff that it was inevitable. On the Cowboy's very next drive - Isiah went diving into the endzone catching a ball he had no business anywhere near and proceeded to immediately run over to Trae on the sidelines and say "there, I got it back bro,"

Adrian Richards had one of the best games he's ever had in the orange and black putting up over 179 yards and 3 TD's, one of which coming when Trae took a play off as the trainer's looked at his formerly damaged right knee. Robbie McIntyre whose frequently used as the team's WildCat QB, took the snap and went running for the sideline. With his deceptive speed, he froze the linebackers who were caught playing a mid-zone but also trying to ensure Robbie didn't cross the LOS. Robbie froze them at the line and saw Adrian down field and hit him right in the hands for an easy 59 yard score.

The Cowboys held the Aggies scoreless in the fourth quarter and kneeled after rallying for 14 points. After the game, Coach Macc was waiting paitently to watch his offence kneel for the win and just as he turned around to celebrate for the first time in his career he was subject to one of the biggest Gatorade showers in college history. He or the Cowboys couldn't be happier right now.

"I can't remember a better defensive gameplan". Coach Thompson was enthusiastic with his team after the thrashing they handed to Oregon St 28-7. The team looked like a picture perfect image of the 12-1 2010 that had 2 1000 yard rushers and a stout run defense. In the new 304 scheme they looked like a ravenous pack of wolves as they held Oregon State's star HB to 19 carries and 60 yards, 42 of which came on a TD run. "Besides the long TD run they averaged 1 yd per carry, if that isn't physical I don't know what is". The game started out with a case of fumbilitis for the Huskies as they fumbled on 2 straight possesions. One of which lead to an A.J. Wise interception at the goal line. The passing game was very good as well. Pierre Smith got his first start against a 5th year group of defensive players at 8 of the 11 positions. "I felt the game would be tough because Corvallis can always be hostile especially for ranked teams. But I felt our ground game kept the defense guessing and I was able to find Boyles and Taylor for big gains". As he said the running game was very effective. Before being injured early in the 2nd quarter Brandon Davis picked up 50 yards. Out for the game with a bruised shoulder the slack was picked up by Mike Davis the speedster and the 3rd string 5th yr senior Freeman as they ran for a combined 150 yds and 3 TD's.

On Defense the front 7 was a blitz heavy frenzy. They only managed one sack but bottled up the running game and did not give Or St time to throw the ball. Utilizing the 2 edge rushers Clarke and Moody tackles for a loss were at a premium. A.J. Wise was able to control the secondary as Jason Bowling the RS FS had a quiet game.

All in all the game was very good. I missed a few throws but I got a bye to work on it. Gona light UCLA up the last 2 games were tough with playmakers varsity sliders and with these sliders I know I gotta run it first to work the pass. They creeped up and I was throwing it deep on the beavers. Can't wait for the big game against Cal. Cool

Hella come back from me. No time for full recap. HB (My backup) set school record with 250 + yards rushing and 3 TDs. Soph QB threw 4 TDs and no picks, including the last TD to win it
