Yo Clark, I got at you on PSN but I'll post it here - I've got an early class tommorow morning for the better part of the day until 2PM EST. I'll be able to play by 2:30 and will be flexible if you can fit it in at all tommorow.

Damn I'm at half time with my game at home vs Ohio State, and I gotta say the new sliders definitely make things more interesting... 7-7 at the half, and I scored with 29 seconds left in the second quarter...

Post  JStrouse05 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 1:26 am

Damn that was maybe the toughest CPU game I've ever played. A defensive struggle all the way, back and forth fighting for field position all game long, a few big plays on both sides, and a perfect 2 minute drill to win the game in front of the home crowd! For anyone who has to play the Buckeyes this season... Have fun, their MLBs are the best coverage backers I've ever seen, and they have one hell of a running game. Glad to have escaped with a W, I think I have to face the fierce Huskies from Washington next, cant wait!!!

Ok HiDeff, Mac, w/e.... we got issues bro

1st, I had heard it about you last season, but the other user won so it wasnt pushed, I just made a note of it and moved on. Now that I have played you and seen it, yea.

You scramble with your QB for no reasy WAY too much. Id say 10 times in that game you rolled out to get better passing lanes, when there was little to no pressure. I would rush 2 and drop 9 in zone and you would still roll out. Simply against the rules. This is your only warning on this.

2ndly and imo more importantly, you used run commit twice, I paused and told you it is banned, you say "since when!!!???", then proceed to use it again later. READ THE RULES. I even made it a point after the title game last season to post in the rules, refreshing the thread to show as new so EVERYONE would see it, that run commit was banned after Iowa didn't know in our title game.

YOU CANNOT USE RUN COMMIT IN USER GAMES. PERIOD.

I didnt even care at first cuz I was killing you. But running it again is straight out insubordination. I dont care how mad you were for getting blown out. I was doing you a favor by "trying" to run the clock out the whole 2nd half, and you are using run commit on me, down 3-4 TDs. AFTER I told you not to.

Basically, your final warnings are in this thread. Learn to play without rolling out, and stop using run commit, or you will be kicked.

I like you on the forums, and your in depth recruiting is awesome... but if the greatness doesnt translate into the game and you play cheesy, it wont be tolerated.

Consider the topic closed for discussion.

On a side note, you also throw to the same WR too much. While not against the rules, its not really sim either... and is frowned upon. You can move him around to slot or whatever, I dont care, to get him away from an impact CB. But you need to spread the ball around. All I had to do was focus commit him on pass D, and when I wanted to I could stop it, so it wasnt gonna be gamebreaking. But you will not only be a better player by spreading the ball around and mixing up your plays, but others will think you less cheesy.

That said, Ole Miss beats #21 Ok St by a final of 73-49. Dont really have time to do full recap, and not worth it really. HB had over 100 yards on 20 carries, scored on 2 KR TDs, an Int TD, etc. Most scoring done in 1st half.

Maybe I was prohpetic on my CB for Heisman... he had 2 picks, an Int TD and a KR TD

Re: Week 2

Post  MaccMane24 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 7:43 pm

Ole Miss 73 Oklahoma State 49

Coach Macc knew it would be a shoot-out but he had no idea that he would need to prepare an offensive gameplan to put up 70+ points. He appeared at the post-game news conference and the cameras flashed as a man who looked ashamed stood at the pedestal.

"It was a great game. I hand it to Coach Clarke, he was obviously well-prepared and we expected none less from him. He's an elite coach in this league and we're a second-year program that's starting to look like a football team. Without a few first-half mistakes and coverage slips - this would've been a much closer game,"

Coach Macc's offense put up 615 yards of total offense on the day, but still lost by more than 20. Turnovers turned out to be a game-killer and it was the early turnovers that gift wrapped the game for the Rebels.

"They're a great program, they've been around the league recruiting the best of the best for years. At the same token, we think we've got a great team here and of course there's going to be issues that will be addressed. This game was an eye-opener for myself, now I know what our guys are comfortable with running, what types of plays you can expect to see and who our real playmakers are. We've really got to step it up on the defensive end, you can't often win a game giving up 150+ on the ground. At the same time, you don't often gameplan and strategize to put up more than 70 points. In this league, 49's enough to win 95% of the time,"

Sophmore QB Traevon Pierce had an average day, spreading the ball out when and where it needed to go to keep the chains moving but it was four turnovers through interceptions that killed drives and for the most part, set the Rebels right up. Trae finished the day throwing 20 of 33, for 355 yards and 2 TDs.

"Of course, our quaterback prospect Robbie McIntyre had a very solid game. He got us yards with his feet when we needed him and solidified his role on this team. He's obviously tremendously fast, giving linebackers fits trying to keep up with him and as you can see he's got great arm-strength. His strike was beautiful and you couldn't have asked for a better preformance out of a true freshman. Blackmon's also deserving of a lot of credit because that was quite the dive to make the catch,"

True Freshman Robbie McIntyre finished the day throwing 6 for 8, 94 yards and a touchdown without any turnovers. Cameras caught up with McIntyre who clearly had the sour taste of defeat in his mouth.

"It's tough for me, you know. Traevon's a great teammate and a great player. Ole Miss has a great defense and he made great decisions on the field. It's just tough knowing what you're capable of and having to watch on the sidelines as the other team runs with the ball down the sideline after an interception. It makes you want to strap your helmet and go out there, yourself. You know? I'm comfortable with my position on the team right now, I love managing the game in the red-zone because if I see that seperation, I'll take off,"

Adrian Richards solified his Heisman Hype with a 214 yard day for 2 TDs. He didn't have a comment for the camera which is very uncharacteristic of him, he was obviously upset by the loss.

Kyle Staley had 123 yards on only 9 carries and 3 TDs with a long of 66 when the game was out of reach the Cowboys decided to sneak a counter in an obvious passing down and great blocking up field catapulted Staley into the endzone for one of three scores. True Freshman Larry Bell also had a nice day with 43 yards on 3 carries.

How about we handle this issue in private? You feel the need to call me out infront of the whole community, I'm not offended I just think it's a bitch move. If there was such an issue with the way I play why was I not confronted throughout the entire season last year? Let's handle this the mature way instead of admonishing me in public.

Re: Week 2

Maybe we should clarify what cheesing and playing using the glitches to your advantage is.

I played a user in this dynasty last year and I told him he's cheesing and he had no idea what it meant. He never heard of the term before. I play online a lot so, I've kind of found ways to stop cheezers.

The one type of play cheezers love to use are the ones where the slot man runs a deep post towards the middle of the field. They will run the QB outside the tackle and throw the ball to that slot man. It is absolutely impossible to stop this play playing man to man. You can stop it sometimes by playing a cover 3 zone, but cheezerz absolutely love these type of plays.

The one thing that is constant with cheezerz is once you figure out how to stop their go-to play, they have nothing else.

Another thing cheezerz use is the QB scramble. This is the most frustrating thing in the game to me (besides when your QB gets hit and the ball goes right to a defensive player when you're not even throwing that way) you can have everybody covered and they will use the QB scramble just to piss you off.

Another thing cheezers love to use is option plays. These are also difficult to stop because you know once you touch that QB all you have to do is pitch to the RB which is another glitch in the game. I remember one play last season my opponent called option on 3rd & 10 and proceeded to run for a 60 yd. TD.

Option plays are glitches. Not saying people should stop running the option, but using it in unrealistic situations definitely gives the opponent an advantage.

I was gonna msg you in private over the rolling out... but the fact you blatently ignored my telling you not to run commit, I wanted the rest of the OD to see the issue at that point.

Nothing really to discuss over it. It is what it is.

This is a wise post. when you scramble out of the pocket on a non called rollout play, when you werent forced out of the pocket, with the sole purpose of gaining a passing lane advantage... its cheesing. Its stated so in the rules. Everyone is told to read the rules on joining. So basically no reason to break em

Got a quick question about running with the QB...I hate more than anything people who run around just to find passing lanes, but if someone drops everyone into coverage, and everyone is covered, is there a problem with running with the QB? I'm not talking about calling a pass and immediately rolling out and running with it, I'm just talking about everyone being covered and you not really having much choice to run with the qb...that's ok isn't it?

Ya ed, if you stand in pocket and routes are done and no one is open, by all means run it. Hell you can take off if you see everyone in deep zone and you have a nice 10+ yd gain out of it anyways, as long as its not abused like every other play or some crap. Scrambling isnt "outlawed"... the rule is just to keep it in check and not have ppl solely use it to gain an advantage over the AI in passing lanes.

Re: Week 2

Post  gameface1324 on Thu Nov 05, 2009 8:56 am

I dunno man, it was fluky. We were both more or less passing teams I guess, and he had alot of turnovers so that helped. Heck I let up TON in the 2nd half too... just his style of play on D, I as able to get some matchup probs when he manually controlled the Safeties or LBs... would just throw to where he blitzed from

Anyways like I said, Mac might not do the roll out thing alot.. maybe when losing I dunno. I just know it was MENTIONED last season, wasnt a huge bitch fest about it, so I thought Id make a mental note to watch for if I ever played him... and there you have it. Didndt do it every play, but did abuse it, especailly on key 3rd downs and what not. I could have paused and put a stop to it if it was gonna cost me the game, but like I said I didnt care much as I was up quite a bit...

And like I said I would have talked with him privately about it, until he blatently ignored me informing of a rule and did it again... at that point I felt all his OD mates deserved to know what was up to be honest.

Moving on...

You guys get your game in asap. Its fine to wait on you, for a user game its hard sometimes, but keep the OD informed whats up as far as when you plan on playing, or if the communication is 1 sided, etc. That way we know, and if Cal is trying to play the game and Clemson isnt, it wont just get simmed, Cal can play with Clem on auto

Not saying thats the case, just using an example for everyone
