Been debating fellas.

We have alot of high scoring games, especially when playing each other. Alot of this has to do with, I think a user vs user game, it cancels out the slider settings and just goes with default varsity.

Anyways, I am in 2 other ODs that uses spliff's heisman sliders. I like them. I have yet to lose to the CPU in them in 4 seasons combined, and I lose CPU games in our OD sometimes on these varsity sliders. The diff is, the user games are alot better.

Putting it to a vote.

I say stick with the ones we have, we should be able to lose to the cpu, that makes it that much more fun...it's no fun if you only have to play 4 real games a season.

Im not saying you wont lose to the CPU... at all. There are still games where EA decides they are gonna stick it to you. Ive just been fortunate and overcome them. Note I use USC and Cal too so, thats a big diff as well

Like I said, Im wanting opinions, not everyone to fall in line with what my opinion is.

in my loss to LSU this season, I felt I should have lost, they were way better and I made mistakes, it for once wasn't one of those robo qb games that ea doesn't want you to win.

i like these sliders. if u lose its because u forced the ball made turnovers and deserved to lose. the cpu plays aggresive and even in the user games the defense is missing a bit because the secondary ai is a bit off but if u keep at it u can make a play or 2 n thats how u win these user games by playing real life mistake free football. I do question the defense ai im sure i dont have a great defense but it should be better than it is ai puts them outta place alot but if my defense is alot of 4 star guys than i can see that. ne wayz my vote is to leave as is.

i have played a half of football USF @ Flordia and the score is 0-13. Home Field is felt all around as the first run i had i fumbled the ball then didnt matter what i did i threw picks and over threw wide open guys. Teams can be stopped evident in the 0-13 score but moving the ball was a challenge for me. Now i dont know if this is because im using a 3 star USF against 6 star Flordia in the swamp, but i am going to finish the game and see how it goes. and i am going to play another game against not such a hard opponent. Ill post stats when im done

I can say this about the Heisman SLiders

Playing 3-4 user games each season in 2 diff ODs, the nat title every year is usually between two 1 loss users, and its a fun battle to jump each other in the polls at the end of the season. undefeated seasons are rare.

I liked the varsity sliders alot at first, but the more we played them (2 seasons now) the more I hate the user vs user games. My god how many 56-49 games must there be? The reason that happens is the AI in that game is on varsity level, and everyone in this league is WAY above that level. SO you are basically playing hte CPU on Varsity, with a human picking the defensive plays and controlling 1 player.

On varsity, the Def AI reacts terribly, the offensive AI blocks crappy, and the game usually turns into shoot outs thru the air because that is where the advantage is for the offenses.

On the Heisman settings, if you throw a bad pass into zone, there is little forgiveness. You will be picked. But at the same time, you can actually stop ppl. The user vs user games in those ODs are like 27-24 games, sometimes even a 17-14 game if 2 good defenses are playing.

We got a couple more days to decide. I want more input, and I also don't want ppl to be intimidated by teh word Heisman and vote to stay where we are without at least trying it out. Our teams are built up enough now that we can handle it. Dont try it out with the default rosters thinking you can use, say a regular USF/Ole Miss/TAMU etc against a powerhouse, because our current teams are better than those 3 stars. Use a 5-6 star team against another 5-6 star team, and that will be a good barometer for what it will be like against the good teams for CPU

Ended up coming back that Florida but lost 41-27 because of INTs i think i threw like 5 and 1 fumble of course tebow and their RB didnt fumble worth shit. Anyway i think i lost bc of the swamp and not because it was too hard it was an up hill battle and i was still able to run once i got going, Broke off a 78 yd run to open the half. I was pissed i lost so i kinda turned it off so no stats for that game

But the Dotts battle pushed on with a ND v Oregon matchup in Eugene, OR. We both got slow starts i think my brother opened with a fg and him an INT. After that it was a chess match like our games are but this time it was more of a football game. Punts, FGs and defense dominated this game in a big, big way. We still broke off big plays, so it is just like teh varsity sliders only they just dont happen every play when two good defenses are on the field. It does put more on the mind of the user than the AI which i like. Setup plays and misdirection became a big factor as well as mixing up your plays. Run teh same play twice the cpu knows whats up and stops it. All in all it plays like a football game should. Now granted their prob will still be the odd 56-45 score every now and again when two teams just cant play defense but it wont be every game. The final score of our game was 16-13. Also one more thing if you like to ball control, which i do, you will be able to do that because you arent scoring on every play and you cant rely on the 30 yd gains every time

Personally I would've never complained but I've got a serious issue with the sliders we used last year. In any sliders I've tried from this year they are by far the worst when it comes to user vs cpu games. The CPU just runs forward and changes direction way too fast for any defender to keep up with. So many times I've nearly broken a controller in this dynasty because the computer keeps just going left and right with no turbo and it's just unrealistic and too cheesy for me. Don't get me wrong I don't mind losing or getting ran all over if the computer makes a legit move or has the blocking - thats FOOTBALL. But when it's because punt returners or a RB in the open field keeps changing direction after than you could possibly while controlling a defensive player - that pisses me off. I call it Robo RB because sometimes you just CAN'T tackle them.

I found the user games to also be very high scoring which isn't neccesarily a bad thing but I would defenitely like games to be much closer and to get more help from defensive players you aren't controlling. I'm going to say go for the All American sliders there's a couple good ones on OperationSports.com it's just a matter of trying them out..

and we already tried the good AA ones and they kinda sucked. Was too easy. We blasted most records season 1. And most successful ODs I have seen run either varsity or heisman

It wasn't neccesarily running that I had a problem with, in fact I had the 2nd best rush defence in the league.

It was the punts, kick returns or end arounds that when the CPU is in open space they don't even juke they just go back and forth left and right, I dunno it bugs me. I'm the only one whose noticed this?

ok so here we go. I played my test game with the new settings. I played a road game against ohio state. from our dynasty with the team i will be using this year. The game was closer than score indicates but these setting in my opinion when the computer decides they wanna stick it to u there will be nothing u can do about it. it was a close game i still threw for 452 yards. But my run game was non existient. i mean i didnt try to force it but i got down so i had to throw. but here is the thing for one my qb threw 4 picks n was never cold n thats because they werent forced balls well except 1 and the werent bad throws. one of them was into the endzone to tie the game my wr is infront of the defender runnin a post. it was a tight throw but it was delivered perfect n some how the safety behind me picked it off without gettin in front of my impact player wr. idk it was just wierd i watched the replay n everything i just dont see how he picked that ball off its like it was going into my wr hands n then the game just put it in his. it was one of those plays that the cpu wanted n took n that was that. whenever the cpu was in jeopardy they made a play somehow. My wr's took big hits after almost every catch. n they dropped a ton of passes. from small insignificant passes to big play, wide open, game changing passes. I took pics n u can see for urself. defense was alright but some plays the cpu went exactly where it needed to go with the ball just cause. not cause ur defense gives that look but just cause. idk how to explain it but i personally dont like them for cpu games. also i threw 4 pics the cpu threw non n he threw some balls right o my players they dropped at least 5 pics easy. im sure for user games the score will be less yes but it will come due to lots of dropped passes n fumbles n unbelievable pics. remember folks this is college football games are high scoring alot. yes there are good defenses but most teams score 35 points a game in rl. so idk imo i like our sliders now oppose to these. with these u will suffer alot of broken controllers n fustration. just my opinion. i strongly advise u play it tho n form ur own. ill play another n post the stats. its not insanly difficult u can move the ball but u can just tell when the cpu is ready they are gonna take it no matter what u do. ***o and both of thier 4th down conversions were in the redzone and turned into touchdowns. just fyi***

I didn't take pictures but any of the games I've played with these sliders, it's true the user run game is almost non existent. I tried dialing up new, unique running plays and even trying stupid run plays in rediculous situations and it just seemed like any time you went to run the ball the CPU sniffed it out. If you can't run the ball and are forced to pass, obviously you're going to get picked off because the CPU will detect your play calling. I think if we bumped User Run Block to 45 or 50 we'd see a good impression in our running game and it would give the user back the ability to run the ball. Of course these sliders are touch-and-go but that's part of finding a good fit for your specific OD is trying and testing them with little adjustments you make yourself.

Well one thing to keep in mind too on those drops, if you play aggressive or even normal on catching, they will happen if you get hit. I always put it on conservative on catching, and never have much of an issue.

And for running, I dunno guys, the heisman winners in our ODs on these settings are always HBs... I can run for 200 yards a game with an impact back, actually better than I can with our varsity settings.

It will prob take everyone a game or 3 to get used to the settings and how to set their individual tactics. But I promise you, there is LESS of the AI just deciding to fuck you up than there is on these varsity settings

I just did a game on the settings against Strouse's A&M Aggies

Wash A&M
Score 35 10
FD 17 6
Tot Off 399 155
Rush 34-149-3 TD 26-61- TD (One long run in garbage time)
Pass 13-26 2TD 2INT 11-23- O TD 0 INT
Yds 250 94
3rd Dwn 8-12 4-14
Punts 3- 48.7 AVG 8- 47.0 AVG
Pen 3- 20 yds 1- 11 yds
TOP 14:15 10:25

Key Players:
QB- Luther Leonard 7-12 132 yds 2TD 0 INT- Played 1st and 4th
HB- Brandon Davis 21 rush 103 yds 4.9 avg TD Long of 15
HB- Mike Davis 5 rush 41 yds 8.2 avg 2 TD Long of 11

3 Sacks Allowed and 3 Sacks for my D
9 TFL with my new 3-4 Defense

On Offense I was able to run the ball real good..not big plays but small chunks which is what you normally see against top teams. The 2 INT I threw were with my Juco Signee who isn't very accurate and will be a mini Tim Tebow for us this year. My receivers only dropped bals when they got popped lol. I was more focused on the runing game because guys were saying it was hard. I was able to run well with Texas playbook which is mainly shotgun formations. I onl made 2 overthrows but it seemed fine to me. Like Clark said you just gotta get used to it.

On Defense I saw maybe 4 or 5 passes on 3rd down from the AI when a guy was wide open and had already beaten my coverage. The CPU offense was balanced but they couldn't run the ball. I didn't check Strouse's A&M roster but the offense seemed like they couldn't get anything going. My defense is still young I've got 2 soph and 1 True Fresh LB's..I had a RS FR FS playing and 2 true freshman corners playing a lot of time. I love how the sliders feel but I would say bump the CPU offense up a little bit. The defense seems good I would tweak a little bit on the tackling I broke some tackles I didn't think I would. That's all I would do bump the CPU offense in both the run and the pass and on defense increase the tackling by 5 or 10. Razz
